There are also a few additional requirements that must be met on top of attaining a passing score of 67 points. Below are the additional requirements, at least one of which must be met:

1) have an offer of arranged employment; or

2) have a minimum of one year of full time experience in at least one of 29 high-demand occupations.

Arranged Employment

An applicant can potentially qualify as a Skilled Worker applicant without having an occupation appearing n the 38 high demand occupations. This can happen by obtaining a job offer from a company in Canada willing to go through the steps of having that job validated by the Canadian Human Resources Department. The applicant will need to still show that they have work experience that qualifies as skilled in order to gain approval.

Note that it is not the responsibility of your Canada immigration lawyer to find a job for you as a skilled worker applicant. However, once a job has been secured the immigration lawyer can assist with getting that job validated by the Canadian Human Resources Department.

Further Requirements and things to note

Like with any other application for permanent residency, the Skilled Worker needs to show that they have no criminal history and are in good health (applies to family members coming with them as well). The application will be processed via the visa section of the Canadian embassy or consulate that serves the applicant's country of nationality. An interview may be necessary with a visa officer. Your Canada immigration lawyer will point out that you should be prepared to wait at least a year before visas are issued in most situations.
