How Does Microdermabrasion For Acne Works?

Microdermabrasion works by using a pen device to blast a stream of non-allergenic crystals onto the skin layer. With "abrading" strokes, it peels off the layer of dead skin cells which reveal the new skin underneath. Acne are causes by bacteria which are trapped between the top layer of dead skin cells and the new skin layer which are trying to push upwards. Thus, by eliminating the dead skin cells layer, it unclogs the skin pores which heals existing acne as well as preventing new ones from forming.

As microdermabrasion only works on the superficial skin layer, it does not aggravate the existing acne conditions. In fact, regular microdermabrasion treatments is the most effective weapons in acne control which clears the skin of impurities or bacteria, leaving it refreshed and rejuvenated.

How Many Treatments Are Necessary?

Usually, you can see visible improvements to your acne conditions just after one microdermabrasion treatment. Generally, six to nine sessions are recommended to remove minor skin irregularities and increased skin smoothness. However, as microdermabrasion for acne concentrates mostly on the effects of acne rather than the causes of acne, it should not be viewed as a cure for acne.
