I was very honoured when Yaro Starak from Entrepreneurs Journey wanted to interview me and I was really happy to share my successes with him its thanks to Yaro that I was able to create a six figure income through membership sites, affiliate marketing and blogging. I learned a lot from his teachings and modeled from his systems and simply by following what he does, its brought me to where I am today.
The Tyrone Shum Story
Tyrone was born and raised in Sydney, he's been a Sydney boy pretty much all his life, traveling around the world as well in three different countries. He was born into a middle class family so his parents sent him to a private a school all way through until University and I studied Computer Science in UNSW which is University of New South Wales. From there, he was really struggling to find out where he want to go in his life so he didnt know what to do.
He felt after he's finished computing, his life back is kind of stuck in putting things together and building things and didnt realize that when he studied Computer Science at University, that programming turned him off a little bit there. He realized this is not for him.
Going Through That Shift From Being Employee to Entrepreneur
Tyrone was actually fortunate to have this entrepreneurial heart when he felt he's really got the love for business. He says, "It wasnt back then that I started outsourcing but it was at that point that I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and I think a lot of people came across that book. When I first delved into that I felt wow, I didnt realize you can make a passive income, you can make income without having to work or go to a 9 to job. I started looking at different options and started my first business there which was a vending machine business."
He was about 21 then when he first got into business and successfully earned six figure income in less than a year but not until he's discovered much effective thing to do which lays in front of his sport -- Dragonboating. From there, he was actually led by the "demand" for Dragonboat equipment around Australian Dragonboating teams when he found out there's no one selling directly to the customers. So he thought since he has the knowledge to put up a website and directly delivering it to the customers, it's another big start to being entrepreneur online.
"This was all done online. I had the website, DBV.com.au. You can still check it out, its still there but Ive sold it out as well to move on. That was my first, real online Internet-based business where I made six-figure income and thats where things also took off for me because thats how I also discovered outsourcing as well. Ive just jumped a little bit just to give you the story."
Building Successful Online Business With Outsourcing
Unfortunately, even if Tyrone has got this amount of customers and teams coming in to order few more paddles and other equipment, Tyrone has got bored with all the day to day work and being solely focused on answering customer service queries all by himself leading him to work for 60 hours a week. With that kind of pressure he's had, he decided to go out of that scene and find something different that will make his life easier. With much luck on his hands, he accidentally browsed over 4-Hour Work Week and finally felt that this was something he's missing.
"Anyway, after reading Tim Ferriss 4-Hour Work Week which I think a lot of people may have heard or seen as well, I got inspired to look at how to be able to leverage and systemize the Dragonboat business. It was about a week it took me just to sit down and write all the strategies out and just outsource it. By then, it took me about 3 or 4 months or so to get it up to speed so I can just slip away or do something else which I did."
As he started success with outsourcing his business and also freeing up so much time for him to enjoy his painted lifestyle, Tyrone also finally decided to sell this business out but retain the virtual team in place for bigger opportunities. He finally went through Yaro Starak's membership site course called the Membership Site Mastermind and implemented all that he learned, used all the templates and rinsed and repeated the processes. By doing that, he eventually have increased his list to making them as buyers in few of his affiliate programs.
After six months of learning all of Yaro's stuff and asking questions in the forum, Tyrone has evolved more to creating his own. Tyrone finally put up his own course which is focused on outsourcing and automation. He called it Mass Outsource Mastermind and he did cater 100 students at most to join his first product launch. Fairly, he's experienced some downsides while outsourcing the whole program but still, after few tweaks and planning, the course went well and he's made over 30 video tutorials for his students -- all from hiring staff, to training them and to letting them do the work themselves.
Tyrone has also received couple of good testimonials, recommendations and also referrals from his friends who've tried his course as well and found it effective to both newbies and experts in the outsourcing field since he's always got the "bonus" or additional modules to give out.
The course also has been relaunched this year and also made more successful earnings. The full amount of the course has increased tremendously because of its value but then people are still eager to buy it. Fortunately, Tyrone has already been admired by his first batch students for keeping them forever as well as the materials as they finish the whole subscription.
Mass Outsourcing With Tyrone Shum
Tyrone is definitely a great teacher when it comes to relating his experiences, using what he's learned and also compiling it and documenting it to give out a really effective, and real-life course that people should be applying as well. Therefore Tyrone, as a certified action taker has always been recommending people to take action straightaway once they find anything useful and effective to them. Tweak that and give it your personal touch to create your very first product. Absolutely, you wouldn't be doing it yourself. Outsource it, outsource it to the Philippines.
