subject: Classic Car News: Green Means Go For The Jaguar F-type [print this page]

The F-type has been one of those projects that has been lingering for over a decade, according to CarAdvice.com, but now its finally here - well at least the concept is anyway. Tata Motors CEO, Carl-Peter Forster, has confirmed that Jaguar has been given the go-ahead to build its long - awaited Boxster rivalling roadster.

They say the classic E-type scrubs up well, so this new Jag needs to be something truly special to live up to such an iconic car. When Jaguar launched the E-type in 1961, to say it was a head-turner would be a complete understatement. Now in 2010 it looks like Jaguar has gone and done it again, they have created a concept roadster, which was inspired by the XK180 and evokes the spirit of the legendary E-type.

CarAdvice.com has reported that the so called F-type will be developed on top of a whole new platform that is expected to be used for a variety of future Jaguar vehicles, meaning the legend will hopefully live on for many years to come. Jaguars new design has been appreciated by the market so far, which is no surprise when you take a sneak peak at the previews of the model, but it has work to do on its range in the future if it wants to be as successful as its predecessors.

The judicious nature of the Jag coupled with the modern enhancements, means the F-type will encompass the classic roots but add a twist of modern class. Although the old girl looks great for a 50 year old, theres no harm in a little facelift to bring the spiritual successor into the 21st century, reports PistonHeads.com, after all there are a lot of other models that have had a few nips and tucks here and there.
