subject: Recovering From Infidelity And Restoring Marital Relationship [print this page]

Marriages that were stirred with infidelity walk either on paved highways or potholed roads. Some chose to end the affair while others leave for good. If infidelity has reached to the core of marriage, they can wreck havoc and ultimately destroy the members.

For the recovery to begin the third party must be out of the picture and the cheating spouse determined to leave the other woman/man. There is no way for the spouse to blame the cheating husband or vice versa for the affair. One should take responsibility in looking forward to patching up the marriage and regaining trust.

Take a Hopeful and Positive View

Every cloud must have a silver lining. But what do you get if the sky above you is full of gloomy skies? Go to the other side of the world and see the blue sky. But this doesn't mean literally traveling to the other side of the world. Finding your silver lining amidst the dark clouds is possible. It's like choosing smile over crying; happiness over misery; or healing over feeling hurt. You see, the choice of hanging on every moment with him is something that you may want to consider this time.

Some of these things might be:

His smile

His sweet warmth

His anticipation

His ability to make your laugh at the oddest things.

His way of viewing the world that forces you to see it differently too.

His personal views on you

There are all kinds of reasons to cling to the love you have for one another. Handling your relationship by remembering the good is one of the better outcomes that can happen at a time like this.

Don't burn Bridges instead restore Old Ones

In life we constantly build bridges and fences with those we love. Sometimes we burn them and sometimes we take the time and put in the effort to mend them. It's a laborious process but one that provides a huge return on your investment in years of love, happiness, and a life that is so much richer for having these friends, family, and loved ones in it.

When you find out that your husband has been cheating on you it puts a huge hole in the fence you've been working on together. It's going to take both of you working double time to mend that particular fence but you might find that the fence is much more beautiful in the end for the efforts that both of you put into it.
