subject: A Sprinkler System Can Conserve Resources [print this page]

All over cities it is very common to see a geyser squirting countless gallons of water all over sidewalks, streets and lawns. Another broken sprinkler head is wasting the precious resource of water. With a good sprinkler system, that wastefulness can be easily countered.

Even a fully functioning system of sprinklers can be extremely wasteful due to water runoff into the streets. Much of the water that is sprayed onto grass is not immediately absorbed and simply becomes waste in the gutters.

Because all this water quickly leaves lawns before being used, it automatically becomes wasted. The grass does not get the full amount of water and quickly becomes brown and ugly in the summer weather. This lack of efficiency quickly becomes a burden on the homeowner.

With an efficient sprinkler system, runoff water can be captured and recycled to be used again. A large percent of the water that is not used initially becomes a complete waste, but with the use of a logical and efficient system, a lawn will not go without a single drop.

A good, green lawn is determined by how much water it receives. Without a decent amount it will shrivel up and become nothing but trouble for a homeowner. When the lawn becomes an eyesore, the property value plummets. No longer does a potential buyer see a good price on a nice home, they see a dead lawn. It makes so much sense to implement a sprinkler system.

The stereotypical scene of a fun summer starts in the yard. Picnics and playing catch never are imagined happening on a brown, crusty yard, but on a soft and green yard. With a healthy and watered yard, this stereotype becomes a reality and friends and family can all enjoy the yard together.

The direction in which the sprinklers are pointed is another key tactic in saving and utilizing water. If the sprinkler head has been obstructed or moved, it will do nothing but water the ground and become more wasteful runoff. It is always important to keep sprinklers aimed at the grass in a logical and efficient manner.

It is easy to get the grass of your dreams with a simple but effective sprinkler system. Homeowners will rejoice at their achievement of having a beautiful yard while still being able to conserve water. There is no better way to save your lawn, some money and the planet.
