subject: Federal Money Giveaway For Solar Panels [print this page]

The power of the sun is the most powerful and sustainable source of energy available today. With the latest technology in solar systems, it is possible to harness that power and the government gives grants for solar panels to be installed in as many homes as possible. The initial cost can be high to put in a whole house business, but with the grants and additional rebates and tax breaks it becomes more affordable for everyone.

All over the world, electricity is used to provide water, and to run everything from schools to hospitals to the common household. Electricity is traditionally provided by coal, water power, or nuclear power, all of which are not necessarily sustainable and never ending sources. Electricity is getting more and more expensive and some households are finding it tough to pay for what they need.

A household can reduce their energy costs by selling their excess solar energy to the utility company, receiving credit for it. Then when they need to use the utility's electricity they will count the credit for the energy previously sold to them by that household. The government grants help homeowners to afford the installation costs of a system.

What the system does is to allow the two way flow of electricity. The power can come to your home as it always has done. You can also send power to them when you make excess.

When your family is away for the day and the sun is shining brightly all day, your system will produce extra power that you won't be using. Instead of it going to waste, you can arrange to have it go to the electric company grid for their use and you'll get credit for it. When the family returns home in the evening or on weekends, you'll need plenty of electricity for showers, dishes, cooking, lights, computers, television, and more. Your credits will be used toward any you need in excess of what your system is making at that time.

Grants for solar panels and tax rebates make it affordable to install a solar power system in your home. The advantage to the government is the production of renewable energy and the relief of overloading on the typical utility system on a high usage day.
