subject: Accelerated LVN Nursing an Investment Into the Future [print this page]

As a new group of LVN students begins their studies entering their first module of an accelerated VN nursing program, they are looking toward the future with hope. And perhaps they are a bit nervous right now, not knowing what the next year will bring, how they will make it through this tough journey, full of sharp turns and uphill climes, but they know, they are on their way to something great, creating better future for themselves and the loved ones around them. They know, they are doing something good for their families and their community. The road on the way to becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse is not easy, but this is the investment they make into their future.

Here is one of them, now a single mother of two little girls. She is going through a tough divorce from a parasite husband, who has been doing nothing but living at her expense. She has been working very hard to support her young family, her two daughters, 3 and 5 years old, and her husband, who lost his job over a year ago, and after not finding employment, without much of a fight, simply gave up and stopped looking for work. Now it was up to her to work two jobs to make ends meet, often working late at night, then coming home to make dinner, and tuck in her little angels. They have been missing their mommy, but what could she do?

This was a very brave decision: change her life completely, turn it around and start anew. After the housing market bubble popped, she could no longer continue monthly mortgage payments, so she had to sell the house. She made a decision to divorce that man, who did nothing but drain her of money and energy. So, now that she was rid of him, she moved to a smaller, but more affordable place with her girls. The ex-husband still continued asking her for money, but now she started a new life. She made a decision to become a nurse, applied to an LVN program in California, and got accepted.

Now she is an LVN student, going to a nursing school, working part-time, and raising her two little girls on her own. It is tough. Sometimes at night, when she puts aside her homework, she lays awake, wandering if she will be able to cover her bills this month. But she knows, these hard times will pay off. This is her investment into the future, the future for herself and for her little daughters. They will grow up respecting their mother for this bold move, for following her dreams, and maybe someday, when the time comes, they will too fight for their chance in life and invest into their future.
