The Alto K10 was followed by the launch of A-star automatic and five CNG cars. Now the recent launch of Maruti is the SX4 Royale. The earlier SX4 had a petrol engine with a low fuel economy. The company however never made an effort to launch the diesel version of SX4. What Maruti had tried for was a facelifted SX4 which had an automatic transmission and a variable valve timing. But unfortunately, even that could not attract customers.
