My suggestion is to talk to your potential, or even your current, trainer and find out if his/her life experiences are similar to yours. If the two of you can relate to one another, then you've found a match. However, if your potential trainer is heavy into body building and you are looking to run a marathon, the chemistry just isn't going to be there for either of you.
