Welcome to the world of the Praxis II Test. Much like a German Shepherd, the Praxis Test invokes fear in thousands of test-takers. It may be an inanimate object, but somehow the test pounces on fear.
In order to make the most of our Praxis Test experience (which hopefully is a one-time adventure), we must show the test that we are in charge. The Praxis II Test is merely the gate we must pass through to do the real work: teaching. We've been waiting for that opportunity for a long time.
How do we get ready? Let's take a look.
Gain Confidence
The Praxis II Test is nothing more than a demonstration of your expertise. That's right, a demonstration. You have plenty of knowledge to share with the world - this is your time to prove it.
Your Praxis study period will reinforce what you already know. This stuff isn't new, and it won't be like those nasty ENG421 exams you've already mastered. You are the expert; the test is just a piece of paper. Think of the test as a cute little Chihuahuano need for fear.
Remove Doubt
It's normal for us to doubt ourselves in the face of a challenge. Don't! The best way to remove doubt is through practice. The more we interact with dogs, the less we fear them. The more we use tools like Praxis study guides in our preparation, the less we will fear the test.
A proper Praxis study guide must include actual questions found on the test. As we read and answer actual questions during our Praxis study period, doubt quickly fades away. On test day, we will be full of hope -- not fear. The test won't stand a chance.
