subject: Great Tips To Stop Acne [print this page]

Is acne causing you a headache? Are those little red dots a daily frustration to your confidence and ability to look people in the eye? How do you stop that acne? How do you get this sometimes monster of a problem under control? Unfortunately, there is no one right solution for every person, hence the great number of products and cures on the market.

First things first, make sure you have a consistent face washing routine. You don't want to be under or overdoing it. Wash your face once in the morning and once in the evening with a mild cleanser. Try to avoid overly-scented soaps, abrasive scrubs, or anything with a high concentration of chemicals. These can make the skin break out further. Be sure to put lotion on your face after washing as well to keep the skin from drying out as excessively dry skin can also cause more acne.

If a simple washing routine such as the one above doesn't help get acne under control, you can also add a mild astringent and acne cream after washing. Just be sure that you are using enough moisturizer to keep the skin soft and supple.

After you've developed a basic, consistent skin care routine, you'll want to visit your health habits. i.e. your diet, exercise, and sleeping habits. Make sure your diet is rich in vitamins and minerals, not overloaded with sugar or caffeine, and well-hydrated with plenty of water. Try to get at least a half hour of fresh air and exercise every day, and be sure you're not lacking sleep.

If after all of these steps you still do not see an improvement or disappearance of acne, you may need to try other methods. You can test various products on the market, but don't spend hundreds of dollars on everything you can find. If a couple of brand face washes or creams don't do the trick, you can try several natural methods such as a Vitamin A and E boost or egg masks, or you can choose to visit a dermatologist.

As a final note, try to avoid picking or peeling at the acne, as this will only irritate the skin further. Keep your hands and hair away from your face as much as possible, and above anything else, avoid over-scrubbing or over-washing your face. These are some thoughts to get you started, and hopefully, you'll find that your acne is dramatically improving with these simple steps!
