subject: Elise Francesca Fargnoli Creates A Unique Style In The Pathway To Abstraction At Agora Gallery [print this page] Chelseas Agora Gallery will feature Rhode Island artist, Elise Francesca Fargnoli, in The Pathway to Abstraction. The exhibition is scheduled to run from July 23, 2010 through August 13, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, August 05, 2010).
Vibrant and youthful, the paintings of Elise Francesca Fargnoli reflect her unique style and interpretation of the meaning of youth. Influenced by 60s & 70s art, fashion, and music, Fargnolis paintings convey a sense of vivaciousness and embrace a lively vigorous spirit. Predominately working with acrylic on canvas, Fargnoli uses abstract shapes and cropped images of the natural world, vivid colors, flowing brush strokes, and bold organic shapes to convey her ideas. Her titles are influenced by old song titles or lyrics Fargnoli felt helped to inspire young people. Fargnolis use of contrasting colors, juxtaposition of bold complementary colors, and dynamic use of diagonal compositions gives each work a feeling of excitement and fluidity. The same qualities mirror those of the always evolving, curious, and changing nature of todays youth.
Elise Francesca Fargnoli studied art at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, CT and at Mount Holyoke College. She recently started a new clothing/accessories luxury collection based on her paintings, FRANCESCA JOY. Offices are in Palm Beach, FL and Pomfret, CT. FRANCESCA JOY designs can be viewed on their website.
