subject: How Did I Get To Be A Network Marketer? [print this page]

One of the most common questions I field in my work as a network marketer, is "How did you end up doing this?" I thought the question odd, but when I researched other people's reasons, I found there was a dearth of articles around about the subject of "Why?" There is plenty of recruitment buzz about big money and the joys of working from your home, and yes, that is a part of the reason, but I found other more prevalent reasons why I, and many others, chose to work on the internet.

The larger than life author of "Awaken the Giant," Tony Robbins, says that people do what they do for 2 reasons, and 2 reasons only. To gain pleasure - and to avoid pain.

I think what he meant was the we don't work for money, but for the things that we get for money, the things that make us feel good, like good food, good clothes, good places to live the freedoms: to travel where and when we want, and so on. For us the other side is we avoid the pain of the hours of commuting, and the long days away from those we love. And we no longer have the exquisite pain of kowtowing to a boss because he controlled our income.

But that's not all...

I get a real kick out of working with the industry greats, like Mike Dillard, Jay Kubasek and heaps of others. I get mentored by some of the pre-eminent minds in the marketing industry, and I promote great product that I get to choose, to customers who want to talk to me.

I no longer believe that the large corporations, the institutions or the government give a toss about me, my family, or about anyone other than themselves. Though scary, the responsibility of taking care of my own financial environment is exhilarating. I am determined to be free of salary slavery for ever.

The number one reason I am an Internet businessman? I love to teach, and I am empowered teaching those keen to emulate my success. The satisfaction I gain from sponsoring success is immense.
