Artificial plants are gaining popularity, and there are a variety of reasons why having fake plants for home use are a good idea. Many individuals love plants but just aren't any good at keeping them alive. They over water them, underwater them or forget them all together. But there are many other reasons why people buy artificial plants instead of real ones as well.

Whatever reason some individuals are buying fake plants instead of real ones, there are many varieties to choose from. Long gone are the days where a fake plant was really noticeably fake. These days fake plants can be so real to look at that it's hard to know whether to water them or not!

Those with hay fever can enjoy the benefits of having lovely looking plants around their home if they switch to good replicas of real plants. Those whose homes have just been too dark or had the wrong type of lighting to keep plants happy also can have the enjoyment of lovely looking plants without the threat of them dying. There are many reasons why fake plants become a good choice for the home.

It can cost a lot more for the very best fake plants because it really is almost impossible even when touched to tell them from the real thing. But there are many price ranges to choose from and it shouldn't put anyone off because they last and last and they don't die.

Along with the benefits of having imitation plants there is one small drawback if you can call it that and that is that you do have to keep them dusted. Even the best imitation plant will be known to be a fake if it is left under a pile of dust.

If left to the point where the dust has formed a proper coating on the plant it may well stain it when you try to get it off. Cleaning with a feather duster, real feathers - or artificial feathers - it doesn't matter, may be a good idea early on. Although there are artificial foliage cleaners available.

You can tell the difference between a good fake plant, and a bad one, because the good ones look real at first glance. Some of them look so real, you really can't tell the difference unless you spend time examining it really closely.

Artificial plants, if they don't get the right care can look fake after a while because their petals or leaves might fray. These types of plants might also be spotted to be fake because of the difference in texture or if badly made glue showing. It might even look very plastic.

But if you spend that bit more on good imitations, then they will look real, give your home a fresh and inviting look and all in all will be much cheaper that re-decorating your whole home.

If you have an aquarium, you may well have invested in some nice aquatic fake plants from your pet store. These are specially developed, so that they don't contain anything, that over time might kill your fish. So if you are re-vamping your home you might consider a new look for your aquarium as well. The fish might enjoy the new scenery.

Fake plants for home use come in all shapes, colours and sizes, and are available anywhere from catalogues, on-line stores, the local market, to e-bay.
