During the day, the weather can be very warmDuring the day, the weather can be very warm. When dusk settles in, the temperature can drop significantly. As night progresses, sitting by your patio can be unbearable due to the cold breeze. This is more so if you live by the shoreline or on top of hills and mountains.

A common practice by people to keep themselves warm is to build a campfire. In roofed patios, however, this seems an impossible and dangerous thing to do. The risk of the house getting caught in flames is high as embers of fire can be flown right into the wooden walls. With the help of technology, keeping yourself warm and cozy in the patio at night these days is as easy as turning on the switch. This is so because of the existence of patio heaters.

Patio heaters are easy to operate. You simply have to turn the dial and in minutes your patio is filled with warmth. There'll be no more chattering teeth or icy hands for you. You can relax in comfort and keep talking to your spouse by the patio swing at night. When you have weeknight entertainment with family and friends, you can prolong your festivities until the wee hours of the morning.

Patio heaters can come in three different types depending on their source of power. There are outdoor heaters powered by natural gas and propane gas. There are also those that operate through electricity. If you want a powerful heater, then choose electrical outdoor heaters. They can warm up the patio in no time at all. A disadvantage, however, is that they cast a constant red glow that makes you feel as if you're getting baked. Natural gas heaters need to be connected to gas line. They are great in the sense that you'll have unlimited supply of heat during the night. The propane heaters, on the hand, needs to be refueled when the gas tanks run out of their fill. But, the huge benefit of propane heaters comes in their portability. They have table-top and free-standing units that can be positioned anywhere you want to provide optimum heat.
