Kapi'olani is one of the ten branches that make up University of Hawaii System. It is a commuter school offering 45 programs and currently enrolls some 9,100 students. The institution student diversity is virtual melting pot of ethnicities, the largest comprising of the "all other" category. It has a nearly balanced ratio of men (42%) to women (57%). The college receives high praises for it liberal arts programs and strong technical, professional and occupational programs.

Majors

Kapi'olani offers five major programs of study: Liberal Education, Business Education, Culinary Education, Hospitality, Tourism Education, and Legal Education and Health Education. Health Education subdivides into three categories Emergency Medical Services, Health Sciences, Nursing, and Kupuna Education.

Tuition

For residents the total cost of living off-campus is about $14,700 compared to living with parents about $7,800 (tuition is $1,896 in both cases full time 12 credits). Nonresidents rates increase with living off campus $19,345 and with parents $12,431 (tuition is $6,528 in both cases full time 12 credits).

Surrounding Area

Kapi'olani Community College offers one of the best areas for your education. Places such as New York, California, Texas and Florida offer near-perfect climates, nightlife, and/or residences. However, Kapi'olani is located in the crme' de la crme' city of Honolulu, O'ahu. Even when it raining the weather is inviting, that is hard to say for cities like New York. Simply stated, if you are looking for the ideal location to attend a community college and study afterschool you have found the place.

Transportation

Students travel around the campus on bikes, fast electric scooters, skateboards, gas and electric motor scooters and of course walking. Students can live off campus and often ride their transportation of choice from their homes to classes. Purchasing such transportation is an expense, which means the listed modes of transportation make excellent gifts for guys and girls.
