How to Prevent Candida infection
There are a number of ways in which you can prevent yeast infections. Some of the effective and common methods of preventing yeast infections are:
Keep the vagina and genital area clean and dry. Yeast fungus multiplies in hot and humid environments.
Avoid wearing tight clothing. Do not wear tight panties and undergarments. Do not wear undergarments made from nylon, pantyhose, lycra or polyester.
Wear undergarments made from cotton and pantyhose having a cotton crotch.
If you are swimming, you need to dry the area around your vagina and genitalia. Immediately remove the wet bathing suit after you come out from the pool.
Clean the anus and penis after bowel movement and urinating. This will prevent the transfer of yeast from the rectum to other parts of the body.
Always use unscented and white toilet paper.
Include yogurt in your daily diet as it has the bacterium lactobacilius acidophilis, which thwarts the yeast activity.
Include minimum amounts of sugar and carbohydrates in your diet. Increasing the quantity of sugar in your diet will increase the probability of Candida infection.
Drink as many glasses of water as you can. Make it a point that you have at least 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday.
