subject: A Pay Per Click Scenario by:Matt Bacak [print this page]

One of my students recently had eight different versions of his squeeze page created based upon different keyword groups and was asking if he would now need to do an article for each one of those pages to increase the quality score. My answer to him was yes. Do an article to get the links going back to each page.

While this is a good strategy, it's also lot of work. Anytime you can create certain pages based upon different search word criteria, you are really going to specifically target more people from the traffic you get, it's a great thing.

However because it is a lot more work, you may want to consider hiring someone else to do the work for you. I have paid a company to do this for me, but I don't always do this even though I really should. If I really started focusing I'd have specific pages to target more people.

What you might want to think about for your pay per click campaign is to find a good programmer who can figure out how to run a dynamic keyword insertion on your pay per click campaign. What this means is that anybody searching on a particular word, can have that particular word show up in the ad, which will actually increase the click-through rate and get them to go to the page.

What you can also try to do is pass that variable or keyword over to the other pages by running scripts on your website. This will actually find out what that keyword is and substitute the new word into your pages.

I've seen this happen where someone's searching for say me "Matt Bacak". The page comes up and what they see in the ads on the right is something like this, "I don't know if Matt Bacak would tell you this" . Likewise, if the search was for someone else, the ad would say, "I don't know if Corey Rudl would tell you this." or, "I don't know if Armand Moran would tell you this." So, that's how it works, it just keeps substituting whatever the search criteria is and changes automatically based upon the information that's getting passed from Google. So that's something to think about to make your life a little bit easier. If you can invest in a good programmer to do this, it's well worth the investment.

What other ways are there for you to get traffic to these pages besides pay per click? Well, joint venture traffic is also really good and you may want to think about buying some solo ads. What I would do is find out which squeeze page is converting the best and then take that and start running solo ads for that particular page. Testing and tracking although time consuming, it is essential for the growth of your business.
