subject: Carpet Cleaning And Your Office [print this page]

Every time you come home or enter your office, one of the first things anyone notices is the floor. While they may not pay close attention to it, should there be stains or discolorations, your eyes are immediately drawn to it. Furthermore, carpets are harborers of allergens which can cause many people to suffer on a daily basis.

As a result, you need to make the determination as to whether or not you plan on cleaning the floor now, or waiting for a later date. Many people often put off this floor cleaning simply because of things like costs or time. This can be the case especially in the office where you cannot have the employees bothered by the sounds of the cleaning equipment. In the home though, most people work all day and cannot be at the house to let in the cleaners to get the job done.

For most offices though, the use of a cleaning service is commonplace. Most offices never attempt to handle the cleaning on their own because they can call the cleaners and have them come in after hours. The home is another story because it is hard to get the cleaners to come in the evenings when you are at home unless you are willing to pay them more. As such, most homeowners have no other choice but to handle the carpet cleaning on their own.

One can rent a carpet cleaner just about anywhere today; with most grocery stores offering them. In use, the process is a simple one, but the instructions are not always the clearest. The biggest downfall with using these rentals is the amount of time it takes to actually perform the cleaning.

When yu have to handle your own carpet cleaning, the first part of the process is to vacuum the rugs followed by the use of a pre-spray. If you are planning on renting the cleaner, it is best if you vacuum and pre-spry prior to going out and getting the cleaner since the pre-spray will need to sit for 20 to 30 minutes. This way by the time you return home, you can go straight to cleaning the carpets.

The choice is of course ultimately up to you, but do remember that a clean carpet not only makes the room smell better, but it drastically reduces the number of allergens exposed to the people who frequent the space. If you have younger children, this can be especially important as they can actually develop allergies simply from being exposed to dirty carpets.

If you can find a carpet cleaning service and have the extra funds, it may be in your best interest to use them because they are quick and will quite often to a better job then you would ever be able to do with a rental unit that is past its prime. Just remember to take your time and be as thorough as possible; making sure to get under and behind any and all pieces of furniture that you can move in your home or office.
