I'm sure you've heard over and over about how you need to lose weight so you can get healthy. How often have you been told that you must simply lose weight and all the problems with you health will also go away? Principle 3 of the 7 principles of fat burning states that you must get healthy to lose weight. We will discuss this what this entails.
To get healthy you need to lose weight, you've heard over and over. People tell you this is because obesity is a health risk that causes heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and stroke. Isn't this true? So many say fat is the direct cause of weight problems, well guess what?
This isn't the case.
It may surprise you, but the truth is actually the reverse. In order to lose weight you must FIRST become healthy. It is because you are unhealthy in some region of your body that you are unable to burn fat efficiently. Let's just go ahead and say it - heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, stroke as well as obesity are all the result (symptoms) of the same thing - a body that is not healthy. I don't know who started this all but somehow someone has made obesity the big bad primary cause or a disease. The real truth is that obesity is an effect or result of something else.
I'm certain that many of you have been struggling with obesity. If you've been experiencing stubborn weight gain it has been the result of unhealthy hormones. You simply cannot be overweight and healthy at the same time. I'll repeat, you cannot be healthy if you're fat.
Fat just will not be burned until the body achieves a certain level of health. When you understand the purpose of fat you'll begin to see the reasons your body is so intent on holding on to it.
The reason and purpose of fat is as a survival mechanism. Your body is not going to want to let go of its fat reserves unless and until the source of the stress and threat to survival has been removed. This means that the body is not going to let go of fat until the body is healthy.
When you try to jump in and fix your weight problem with dieting or calorie cutting or other typical exercises without first finding out where your problem lies is not the best approach to take either. Focusing on weight loss as your initial goal is the wrong approach to losing weight and getting healthy. The first goal needs to be creating healthy glands and hormones. After you get healthy you can then lose weight.
The most important thing you can be aware of is that obesity is the effect, not the cause. It is a symptom. If you can keep yourself aware of this, you'll be able to start treating the symptoms of weight gain and not the cause. You'll be able to finally get a healthy body now that the symptoms of weight gain are no longer a problem.
