subject: Do You Want To Run Webhosting Of Your Own? [print this page]

In addition to your brains and necessary knowledge, you will need satisfactory connectivity both within the Czech Republic and abroad.

Since transmission capacity is expensive, you will not be able to afford your own line connected in the NIX backbone network, and you will decide to use the service called serverhousing.

Choosing the serverhousing, you rent a space in the server room connected in the NIX backbone network. As the total transmission capacity of the server room connected in the network is divided by the number of the servers, you pay considerably less than if you were connected separately. If you were connected separately, you would probably have the fastest connection to the internet in the world, but for the price that you definitely cannot afford.

To establish your serverhousing company, you need to buy your own server (or to rent it); you need to buy some equipment to be able to provide webhosting services - and here we go!

At the beginning , if you are educated in the branch and have the necessary knowledge, you start, offering webhosting services on your own; gradually, you need to hire employees who will provide technical support (you need at least two because nobody would work for you 24 hour a day).

Despite the common belief that the webhosting market in the Czech Republic has been already filled, my opinion is different. I daresay that clients would appreciate good services of quality. There is a big gap on the local market - multihosting - i.e. an option to host more domains under the same account (hence to pay only one monthly fixed payment tariff and reduce the price for the hosting per one project). I am convinced that if there were a really good and fair offer in this area - and for a reasonable price - your webhosting company would be a candidate to success.

Therefore, you who are capable to do it, please do it - and do not allow competitors to take their chances ahead of you.
