Laptops are part of modern life, and it can be difficult to imagine life without them. Like most things in the computing world, they have been around for a bit longer than most people think. It was in 1979 that a British man, William Moggridge, invented a computer that was small and light enough to be taken on NASA missions into space. Although small, it managed comparable functions to other computers at the time.

People using laptops now probably wouldn't recognise this early model, and quite possibly would not be too keen on the next model that came along, as these had laptop screens of five inches. After this, development moved on apace, and since then all the technological creations that are now available have come about.

Everything has been miniaturised and tiny laptop screens are common now, but the size to function ratio is improved. There are occasions when smaller is better and this is the raison d'tre for laptops in the first place.

Using LCD laptop screens requires a little care as the liquid crystal display unit can be vulnerable to accidents. When immersed in work, it is easy to tap the screen with a biro or other sharp object while thinking about the subject, following which the realisation that you have caused a dint or hole in the screen comes as a nasty surprise.

Fortunately, here at Laptop Power, we have a wide range of laptop screens that are compatible with most makes of laptops, so even if you have had such an incident, it need not be a disaster. Laptop screens can be replaced and you will find our instructions straightforward to follow. Once your laptop screen repair is complete, you can continue to benefit from the technical developments to laptop screens of the past thirty years.
