subject: New Liposuction Techniques Take A Considerable Amount Of Time To Perfect [print this page]

Often when a new liposuction technique is introduced to the public there is a period of concentrated excitement. This excitement is brought on by the media and surgeons and behind it is an overwhelming promise to create easier and better results. The truth is that it takes surgeons time to know the true pros and cons of a particular procedure.

The cycle is the same for each new technique that is developed. Over time the new development makes the surgical extraction of fatty tissue safer and simpler. There is always a period of a learning curve.

Smart lipo or laser liposuction technique is the most recent development. Many patients have found it to be an easier process and recovery. However, some after math effects have created disappointments for a few patients. Lumpy or bumpy areas are left in the end result as the skin folds into its new shape.

Smart lipo is performed by the use of a cannula with a laser in it that melts the fat cells. This process is supposed to be able to help tighten the skin in recovery. The process is supposed to be less traumatic on the body. It is also supposed to offer better results than other more traditional forms of liposuction. However, the question still remains as to whether it really does.

Some patients have been very unhappy with the results left after smart lipo. They find that they have pockets of lumpy and bumpy skin. They also complain about loose skin and wrinkles they did not have prior to the surgery. Other patients complain of a lot of pain after the surgery and during the recovery period.

There are a number of differences between the new smart lipo techniques and the traditional techniques. Traditional methods actually suck the fatty tissue out of the body which is what the whole procedure was designed to do. The smart procedure melts the fat with intense heat and actually causes the death of the fatty cells.

The problem with the laser technique is determining on just how much energy or heat to use in order to kill the fat cells. The results of the surgery depend on the amount of heat that is used. The more and more the laser is used the better surgeons will know just how much heat to use to get great results.

There is still a learning curve to find the perfect temperature. The surgeons openly talk about their results with each other about their findings. They also discuss findings during conferences to find the best heat for different areas of the body. It is being perfected little by little. Traditional methods have already been perfected and may be a better choice for the reason.
