With the complex natural conditions, stable and balance ecological system, distinct plants vertical zonings, Huangshan has a forest coverage of 56% and 1452 kinds of wild plants. The first level national protecting plant dawn redwood, the second level national protecting plants like Ginkgo are found in Mt. Huangshan. There are 300 more kinds of animals on the mountain, such as spotted deer, black muntjac, barking deer, and king pheasant.
