Before a year comes to an end we pull at our hair to come up with pipe dreams commonly known as New Year Resolutions with the firm resolve to change our lives. It becomes a vicious cycle as every year we come up with the same old promises-to-self. Eat healthy, hit the gym more often, come to work on time, get organized, quit this, do that, and the list goes on. At the top of our lists we write in big bold letters Make It Happen in 200X but even before the first month of the New Year ends, down the drain these resolutions go.

If making New Year resolutions were I crime then I am guilty as charged. The dawn of the millennium way back when it seems got everyone in a vowing frenzy. It was that year I promised, not only myself but my two boys as well, that wed have a grand Bay Area home remodeling. Almost a decade had gone by and our humble abode still very much resembles a before construction in San Mateo as seen in those home makeover shows. There was no year that Do an Extreme Makeover remodeling San Carlos edition was not part of my list of make-it-happens. This year to spare me from all the guilt instead of the usual cheery, oozing with optimism header, Ill just write down Try Again Next Year or the Year After Next

My god-sent husband perhaps sensing my brewing dilemma for the fast approaching New Year contacted a known company that just finished this spanking new construction San Mateo. In hopes of finally ticking off remodeling from the tarnished list, he already made arrangements with said company to redesign our house to the extent of making it a landmark construction San Mateo. With a big heart, an open mind and a rather deep pocket, dear husband let the contractors in to do an initial assessment the day after Christmas.

And so it was officially on, the best house remodeling of the year. We made reservations at the nearest hotel so wed have a roof above our heads whilst our house was being, more or less, blown into smithereens. My excitement was greater than that of my fifteen year old sons he was promised a pool house all to himself and a gaming room by his suddenly-Richie Rich cum Hugh Hefner dad whilst I was just plainly excited that we finally got things started.

With fervent resolve, I will maintain my newly remodeled home in tiptop shape. I will allot a few minutes of each day to tidy things up despite my very busy work schedule. I will put my state-of-the-art kitchen to good use by actually cooking and lessening my consumption of Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese rice toppings. Sound like new resolutions to me.
