subject: The Successful Affiliates Focus [print this page]

Let me first start by saying that I think that if you're really serious about being a long-term successful affiliate marketer, you should try to focus on one niche market. You may be able to do more than one market at a time, but for most people it's a lot better to focus on one market.

The reasons that you should focus on one niche market are plentiful. One is that you should have a wonderful understanding of every aspect of that market.

This gives a person a chance to build a website and blog. With the website and blog, you can get a ton of free traffic. On this website and blog, you can affiliate a number of products or offers at one time.

Another reason that you should try to focus on one niche market is that you can become an expert on that particular market. It's not easy to stay on top of a bunch of different markets.

You can keep a pulse on all of the products and offers that are out there. It's not always an easy thing to find great products or offers to promote. When you're an expert on a market and you spend your time researching and keeping up on the market, it is a lot easier to find and promote the best products and offers.

You also get to build your mailing list around one market. I made a big mistake when I first started out online. I jumped around from small niche to small niche market and I was building mailing lists, but I wasn't keeping up to date with each market.

I wasn't able to manage all of my lists effectively. I left a lot of money on the table because I didn't put all of my efforts into one market. The old jack of all trades and master of none.

If I would of just targeted one market from the start, I would of made even more money. I would have had one huge list to manage instead of a ton of small lists. It would of saved me so much time and effort. I could of spent my time researching competition, keywords, advertising etc.

Even if you aren't an expert in a market, put in the time and the effort and you can become an expert. It's just a matter of research. If you need ideas for niches just go to amazon for example and check there list of hot selling items!
