subject: Should You Do Ppc Advertising On Facebook? [print this page]

Google Adwords is the largest pay-per click advertiser, but it certainly has its problems. With that size comes immense competition and with that comes higher prices. They also had their famous Google slap.

One of the things that I don't like about the big search engines and using them for pay-per click is that when people search, they see a bunch of ads and are flooded with so much information and have so many different options as to where they can click, it is hard to stand out. Sure you can combat this by paying more, in order to, get a higher placement and also writing better ads than everyone else.

The problem is that you may not be able to do both of those things or either of those things. If you're competing against corporations, you're going up against a huge budget and they have professionals that do this for a living. They are professional ad creators and their landing pages are made by professionals. That is not easy an easy thing to deal with.

Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't use them, but there are alternatives that you can use if you're having trouble with them. You can pay to advertise with Facebook.

With Facebook, a lot of times the user will only see one or two ads at a time. That is huge, instead of seeing, not only ten regular search results for each search on the search engines, but also all of the other sponsored links as well. There could be ten or twelve sponsored ads there. That is a lot of competition to be fighting.

Another problem that you have when you're advertising on search engines is that you aren't able to use images to advertise. All you can have is a text ad with your link. With Facebook you can have a text ad, but also an image to go along with it.

We are visual creatures and images get our attention a lot more than words do. It gives you a chance to stick out with the image and the ad and not be put side by side by a ton of other ads.

So if you are doing ppc advertising for a while then you may have already realized how difficult it became to make a profit with google adwords or other traditional ppc advertising methods. So advertising on facebook is a new and great alternative. Give facebook a try - you wont regret it!
