Steps
1. Spray a leave-in conditioner to help protect the hair from the heat of the iron after wash and conditioning.
2. It is not suggested to proceed with the flat iron until your hair is completely dry.
3. Allow the chi flat iron to heat up.
4. Pull all the hair up on top of your head except for the bottom 2 inches around the nape of your neck and clip up.
5. Gather a small section of hair left down around your neck. Spray the section and then position the Chi flat iron around the section at the midway point between your scalp and the ends. Wrap hair tightly around the flat iron. While wrapping, move the flat iron down along the length of the hair section until the hair ends and the flat iron are free of your hair. You should have a large and loose spiral curl in this section.
6. Curl the rest of the hair that is loose around your neck. Spray all of the curled hair lightly with spray.
7. Release another 2 inches of hair just above the curled hair. Keep the other hair clipped to the top of your head and follow steps 5 and 6 above.
8. Continue curling 2-inch sections of hair until all but the hair on the very top of your head has spiral curls.
9. Release the remaining hair from the clip and separate into two sections. Pull the section on the right straight up and spray it. Position the Chi flat iron at the base of this section of hair and pull as you wrap it around the flat iron, which creates a large curl on the top right of your head. Repeat with the left section of hair.
10. Spray all curls lightly hair spray.
11. Pull up the curls on the top of your head gently and tease them slightly with the comb. This enables hair lift and helps smooth the curls. Lightly tease the curls for smooth finish.
12. Spray again to finish the style.
Tips
Chi flat iron without round plates may result in the curls having sharp angles instead of being round.
