We go for seminars, listen to webinars, read twenty or more books about how to make money online.
This is called information overload. It reminds me about an ad on TV advertising one of the search engines that gives us accurate information. Two women are sitting at the restaurant table and having conversation. One of them is being asked about something and all of the sudden she processes the information like a computer and starts talking like a machine.
Internet marketing is similar. We are interested in the subject, but we do not know where to start and we pick one strategy of one Internet Guru and then we drop it after ten days as it does not work. Then we pick up another one, something new and exciting and we repeat the same process again and again. Finally, because we do not see the results, we give up after spending few thousand dollars on several trainings.
What is the mindset we shall have in Internet Marketing?
Many of Internet Marketers will say they are making millions on the Internet and maybe they are Internet Geniuses, maybe they have money to invest and get somebody else do the work for them. Average person like you and me, we want to learn things step by step and understand the process before getting the rewards.
We spend some money on the training and we want to see the results first.
Internet is the amazing vehicle to reach as many people in the whole world as possible. Virtually, anyone who has access to the Internet can read our post, advert, and offer and buy our product or the product we advertise.
Be determined
If you look at some of the most successful Internet Marketers, they spend sleepless nights before becoming successful. They spend lots of money and given up their personal life in order to become successful.
Ive been attending some of the Internet marketing seminars and they are all very inspiring. These are events when we get to speak to the Internet Marketers, to other people who are already making money online, but also to the people who are trying like us.
When we share the information, the most important thing that comes up is that we do not get the support from our families. It is very rare that our parents, partners will stand strongly beside us and say I believe in you. We are determined to make it happen and work hard on it for some time, but it is quite difficult to keep on believing in something that even our loved ones do not believe in and they keep on discouraging us.
One of my friends told me how his friends always try to take him for a drink, or are saying that he is losing his time on the Internet. It makes him feel bad and obviously he does not do any work.
We have to be wise enough to take on the criticism and somehow rejection and be persistent. Make a deal with yourself that those who are laughing at you now, will be jealous of you in the next few months.
Be disciplined
Once youve decided that it is your time now and whatever happens, whatever other people say, however your body feels and however sleepy you are, you will make it, make your personal plan, set up your goals.
I used to write big goals like I earn 1 million$ in a year, but after almost eighteen months of being interested in Internet marketing I lowered it to I make 2k online per month. The truth is that if I am able to make 2k per month I shall be also able to make 1million in a year very soon. Its like investing money. If we are able to invest 50 dollars, we also shall be able to invest 1milion. The truth is that we have to start somewhere.
That is why our goals must be achievable. If you are only starting online now, it would be close to a miracle if you made 1 million in your first year. If you do, please share with all of us.
Internet Marketing is like a job (but more exciting!) and we have to learn the ropes, build a relationship with our clients, and offer value. The only boss we have is ourselves which is good news, but also the biggest trap.
As a human being we tend to expect results straight away and we do not stick to our plans and if our actions do not bring results quickly, we tend to drop what we are doing.
At a job, your boss will expect the results from you; otherwise Youre fired!
This is how we learn at the job because we are under pressure. We have to get the pay slip at the end of the month to pay our bills, to pay for our food and for entertainment.
When we are sitting in our home, working on our Internet Business, we rarely treat it as a business and tend not to take it too seriously. We also get distracted easily. We go and watch TV, we go shopping, check new videos on You Tube and nothing gets done.
It takes huge effort to keep yourself focused with all the distractions around us.

Most of the businesses have everything in place. They are organized. The salespeople have daily and weekly reviews of their performance, their goals and they are accountable with their managers. Are you accountable with yourself?
There are hundreds of books, audios, and videos about Internet and Affiliate Marketing, but I have not yet come across one about how to organize yourself and how to achieve your goals in this business.
