subject: The task of Planning Family Dinner [print this page]

Mother knows bestMother knows best. This is the usual line that we hear. The cook in the family is mostly the mothers. Because she knows their favorite foods. In the present time, mothers are already working to help the husband in providing family needs. This is why the fathers are now learning to do kitchen chores sometimes.

But still moms are pointed as chefs at home. This is one of the reasons that contributes to overweight. Since moms dont have the time they used to have to cook, most of the time the only solution will be to buy "read to eat" foods. As we all know most, if not all of this kind of foods are not has healthy as homemade food, and usually have loads of fat which increases obesity problems.

At the first 2 months, usually the men cooks about 40% of the meals. After that, the number decreases, and he only cooks about 13% of all the meals.

This percentage is decreasing because most of the men dont like to cook and they think that preparing meals is not their function in the family. They are wrong.

In order to try to increase this percentage, many movements were created. To try to persuade them to cook, food magazines, cooking shows, and websites were made with that purpose.

All this effort did not deliver great results. In many homes the women is still the only one who cooks while the men is watching TV... Women could and should try to involve men when cooking. They should try to persuade them into cooking and some day. the women might be the one watching TV while the men is cooking.

The best thing to convince fathers to cook is to bring all the members of the family to the kitchen. Every member should cooperate, help each other to prepare the meals. In this way, fathers will feel comfortable and consider this activity as a great bonding for the family.

Maybe one day men will see that women cant do everything forever. They NEED help, and you should be there for her.
