subject: Bathroom And Closet Organizers: Keeping An Orderly Life [print this page]

Bathroom Organizers is a category of products that encompass an extremely wide variety of objects of many different shapes and sizes, all devoted to a well ordered, and thus more spacious, bathroom. Closet Organizers, as may be imagined, are a similar class of goods that are more expressly intended for closets.

There is often not a lot of difference between the two categories, except that you may expect bathroom organizers to be "water resistant" in many cases. For example, products intended for the bathroom are unlikely to be made from wood, as many designed for closets may well be. Now to be sure, such water resistance is not quite the same as the sort found in a professional diver's watch. Indeed, this "water-resisting" quality is inherent to all plastic objects, which do not absorb water as a matter of course. Thus to say that bathroom organizers are typically resistant when the vast majority of them are constructed of plastic is to simply state the obvious. And it's obvious that an organizer is, generally, an organizer, whether intended for the bathroom or the closet.

But in a few specific instances, bathroom organizers and those for the closet do exhibit differences, such as the aforementioned water resistance, which, in these cases, do not simply rely on plastics' inherent non-absorbing nature but pertain mainly to their designs. For example, most containers meant for bathroom usage will have rubber gussets or lining along the edges of their lids to help keep the water out. Closet organizers can be made more casually, with wide openings and drafts.

Bathroom and closet organizers can come in many different kinds of makes and models, but the ones most often found tend to look much more alike. It is understandable that there is no great public demand for much ingenuity in the variety of such organizers, but the situation is unlikely to change unless people take their style of housekeeping much more seriously!

All right, granted, that's a funny (or even crazy) thought, but hey, why not, think about it: everything else has been made into an objet d'art - why not ye olde humble organizers? Yes, think about it, designer bathroom organizers! Luxury closet organizers! For premium upscale high housekeeping - haute corvee!

No, really, it would be the final frontier in fashionable furniture design. After all, they have lavish golden toilets with precious gems and fine glass, so why not something to match in the form of a rich and decadent organizer. Really, isn't it time for an organizer makeover! Or, to keep with the terminology of our age of advanced technology, an upgrade is in order for the old-fashioned organizer. After all, they are also way overdue for a bit of evolution. Indeed, it's a great idea for some ambitious young designer just out of art school to make his or her name. After all, who'd ever have imagined that repeating Campbell Soup cans on a canvas could be considered art?
