subject: The Soccer Fanatic Dream Come True, Goal.com From Android [print this page] There is a new Android application which was launched for the World Cup. The Goal.com mobile application is a feed reader which is specifically tailored to provide the user with the World Cup soccor coverage. Although there is no audio or video it actually has an expansive list of news feeds for all of the teams involved in the World Cup.
Sharing and saving these world cup soccer articles can be done if various ways:
*Email
*On Facebook
*SMS messages
*And so forth
You can also subscribe to your favorite team and get moment to moment updates. There is a list of teams provided within the application so you can easily sign up.
There are many application features that will amaze your from Goal.com
*World Cup breaking news
*Tabs which are easy to navigate through
*Live scores
*Club news
Unfortunately you are not able to configure Goal.com for notifications, alerts, or scores. Having this feature would really make this fine application even better. It is a very effective app but the feeds are passive. If you were alerted by a goal or a particular action this would make the app more 'real time'.
The tab navigation is well organized and broken down into logical categories such as standings, team, player profiles, special features, guides and outlines and even more. It would be nice for Goal.com to have a search as there is so much content to read through. However, perhaps for the next version. For now, the tabs are well executed and worked well.
As noted there are a could of drawbacks or some features missing that could make this very nice Android app simply outstanding. Perhaps future versions will have such included. For now, Goal.com will be a very effective way for soccer fans to stay in the loop with the Soccer World Cup whereever they may be throughout their day. Another point worth mentioning is the price - this app is free.
