subject: The Absolute Best Type Of Backlinks And How To Get Them [print this page]

If youre trying to rank a page on your site at number 1 on Google, youre going to need great backlinks. Chances are, if theres any kind of competition for the keyword youre going after, youre going to need THE BEST backlinks.

Not only will you need high quality backlinks, but youll also need a lot of them. Google definitely looks at quality and quantity when ranking sites. And if the keyword youre going after is getting a lot of searches, you can bet that your competition is going after quality AND quantity.

So when it comes to quality and quantity of backlinks, what is the best? Well, it is generally accepted that the best links come from high PR domains. Google gives a definite boost to sites that get a lot of links from PR4 and higher. So your focus should always lie on scoring links on these high PR domains. Yes, it is generally also accepted that the link will have more power or juice if the actual page of the site has a high PR. However, this is usually the home page and getting a link placed on a high PR home page can be near impossible and/or extremely cost-restrictive. So your best bet is to focus on placing the links on inner pages of high PR domains.

Its generally easy to place links on low PR domains because there is less moderation and there are far more PR0-3 domains then there are PR4-10. For example, 99% of blogs (which usually allow for placing comments) are PR0-3. So the solution to this issue is something called publicly viewable profiles.

Many web 2.0 sites and forums allow you to make an account and then have a profile that is not protected by a password. The reason its important for it to be publicly viewable is because the search engine spiders cannot see links that are on password-protected sites.

So what you want to do is open accounts on sites that have domains of PR4 or higher (dont worry, there are literally tens of thousands of opportunities for this, which solves your quantity issue) and make an account. Then place your link in the bio, signature, or any section that allows you to put a link with anchor text AND is shown when you view the profile. Its really that simple.

You might be asking, how do I find these sites? You can find them by yourself using some advanced methods that are beyond the scope of this article. Or you can buy packets of sites. Usually these packets only give you the actual site. You then need to go place the link, which is really where the bulk of the work resides. You can outsource this, use software, or do it by hand. However you do it, learn more about anchor text, indexing links, canonicalization, and how to not get your account closed on these sites (it is technically grey hat to do this method) before you waste your time and/or money.
