subject: Shopping For Clothing At Year End Clearance Sales [print this page]

Why do people always pay regular price for their clothing, underwear, lingerie and shoes when it is so much smarter to shop the sales and clearance items at the end seasons and the end of the year? It is common knowledge that most stores always mark their inventory way down at the end of the year because they do not want to have to count up and report any inventory they do not have to for tax purposes. This is when you can get some killer deals even on high end clothing from high end department store. On lines stores are no different either.

It is great to go shopping and be able to buy whatever you want to, but what is wrong with waiting just a little while until the great sales start? You can buy a great coat in September or October when the new styles and stock are put out, but you are just about always going to pay top dollar. If you wait until the end of December or January of the new year, you can usually get that same item for half price and sometimes even less!

Some people worry a little too much about whether what is in style this year will still be in style next year and this is one thing that can hold people back. They want what is the most fashionable at the moment. There is a simple solution for this. Buy items that have a classic look to them and they will still be in style years from now. With items like lingerie and underwear, these items have no particular style that comes and goes really. A corset, teddy or camisole today will probably be made in much the same way as one was made last year so why pay more than you have to?

It is always nice to be able to wear nice things and stay in style as the fashions come and go, but the smartest shoppers spend the most money on classic items like a pair of expensive black dress shoes that will still be in style from year to year like a pair of ladies basic black pumps or a basic black wool coat. These things never go out of style. Spending your money more wisely does not mean that you have to settle for less quality or buy things that no one else would wear. It just means that you have to know when the right time to buy really is and do a lot of shopping. Shopping stores on line makes finding markdowns and clearance sales easier than ever before.
