subject: Dog Supplies For All Demands [print this page]

The vast array of dog supplies available for every dog owner to pamper his dog with is certainly a head spinner. Although the humble dog house has been around for a long time, the way its design, construction and contents have evolved is amazing. No longer do kennels sport the simple wooden structure with thatched roof. Some now resemble a mini camper van with a comfortable bed, cushions and carpet. The over eager owner may even install a air vent or heater to regulate temperatures during hot and cold seasons.

A tried and proven method to train a dog is by using dog treats. The simple dog biscuit is now replaced by specially designed treats to suit the dogs size, age and taste. Its health and level of activity also play important factors in creating the ultimate dog treat. Treats are also a way to slip in more nutrients and vitamins to your dog if it has an adverse reaction to taking them orally. Take note the treats dont get in the way of normal diet as they should be treated as incentives and rewards.

Exercise keeps your dog more physically and mentally alert. As such, toys are essential dog supplies, designed for self-play or play with owners. Since dogs are social creatures, your dog easily gets lonely when left alone. Self-play toys are great options to keep it occupied until your return. Its also a great alternative to it developing a taste for your favorite shoes. Apparently chewing on a toy helps your dog salivate and keeps germs away. Throwing a frisbee in the park is the most common game between man and dog. Although similar results can be achieved with a stick, its more fun watching your dog jump to catch the plastic disc mid-air. A dog treated well is certainly a happy one.

If you plan to be travelling with your dog, it may be worthwhile investing in a dog carrier or dog crate. Strap your dog down for car travel with harnesses attached to seat belts. Cloth barriers can be set up to keep it from moving back and forth, thus distracting the driver. That barrier will also come in useful when travelling with small children.
