Richard Gasquets resurgence will be tested when he faces Andy Roddick in the Brisbane quarters.
This clash of the powerful, big serving Roddick against the stylish Gasquet with his all-court flair is the highlight of the quarter-finals.
Roddick has been the scourge of the Australian hopes, defeating Peter Luczak and Carsten Ball. Roddick has not yet needed to hit top gear, relying on that serve to get him through.
Gasquet showed a lot of class in defeating Aussie qualifier Matt Ebden 6-3, 6-4 on Wednesday and he will need every bit of that to take out Roddick.
Gasquet has good memories of playing the top seed. The last time they met was in the Wimbledon 2007 quarter-finals when Gasquet came back from two sets to love down for a famous win. Roddick, who leads the head-to-head 2-1, admits that the defeat still hurts a little.
Gasquet has plenty of respect for Roddick. He said, Hes in the top 10 since a lot of times. Hes one of the best players in the world, so I have nothing at all to lose.
