Water helps flush out toxins from our body. Try mixing the juice of four tomatoes with four pepper corns and a dash of honey. Drink this concoction first thing in the morning, before eating anything else. The anti-oxidants in the juice will cleanse you internally. Rub the left-over pulp over your face to tighten the pores and brighten your skin. Eat right- Eat lots of fibrous vegetables like cabbage, carrot etc daily to keep the system clean internally. To keep pimples at bay, go on a complete row and boil food diet for a week every month. This detoxifies your skin and helps it regains its pH balance. Go for active ingredients that control oil production- Look out for skin care products that contain active ingredients such as glycolic acid or tretinoin. These are exfoliants that are effective in the treatment of enlarged pose and excessive sebum production. While buying night creams and tonners go with the one which has witch hazel extracts. Witch hazel not only dries up a pimple but also prevents scarring of the skin. Avoid tonners or astringents with alcohol as it can strip your skin of oil completely and make it very dry and prone to wrinkling. Beauty regime (a) Regular cleansing at least three times a day with warm water is good for oily skin. It is always better to go for a soap-free face wash rather than a creamy cleanser. (b) if your skin is excessively oily go for anti-bacterial cleansers for sensitive skin with a neutral pH, rather than soaps. You can also use a deep-cleansing exfoliant at night incase your skin is flaking as well. Once you have cleansed your skin dab some toner to tighten your pores. (c) Apply face masks- once a week- deep cleansing with a mask is a must. Go for a mud-based mask to keep your pores tightened and deep cleanse your face. (d) Moisturise- moisturise your skin regularly on a daily basis. Absence of any moisture even in oily skin can make the skin flaky and dehydrated. Invest in oil free skin moisture. Or go for a water based moisturizers. For the day time use, pick a gel based sunscreen as they contain lots of water. Use the right make-up- While choosing make-up, especially blush and eye shadow, buy oil-free products and powder-based versions as they absorb oil better and keep your skin looking fresh for longer time. Make sure the make-up you choose are non-allergic and does not cause any pimples. Invest in a good make-up remover or deep pore cleanser to remove every trace of make-up from your face. If your skin is still fuzzy to behave, go to a dermatologist. She can prescribe OTC, drugs that can bring down the inflammation and control painful conditions. You can also ask her help in choosing the right set of products for your skin-care. Glycolic peels are also widely used in removing the dead skin cells. You need at least six sittings to get the desired results. The peels work better if you have acne or black heads.About the Author:
