subject: Microsoft Kin Two It's What Every Mobile User Wants [print this page]

Many mobile phones promise to help people keep up with all the things happening in their online social circles. And because social networking is now an essential aspect that people look for in a mobile device, the feature comes in all shapes and sizes. It may come in the form of an app, an integrated one tap access point or a quick link to the social networking site.

In the case of the Microsoft Kin Two, it does not need to rely on third party apps or open a separate window for you to see what is going on with the people who truly matter. Everything is already easy to see on its unique home page. Dubbed the Kin Loop, this enables a collage like view to make the experience as enjoyable and immersive as possible.

Something to Keep You in the Loop

Since the Microsoft Kin Two is made to contain all the new posts and important events coming from your social circles, it is considered to be a never-ending magazine of your life. It weaves all your social networking and RSS feeds into one, entertaining read on your home screen.

This means that you will be able to see recent status updates, unread messages and contact details all in a single glance, giving you more time to communicate with the people who are important to you.

Designed to be Fresh and Hip

Though the actual operating system of the Kin Two is based on the Windows CE platform, the user interface is presented in a Windows Phone 7, metro based theme. This is definitely an excellent design direction which makes everything look twice as polished.

In terms of its physical design, the Microsoft Kin Two is an exceptional device. It sports a vibrant 3.4 inch multi-touch display, a sleek, easy to pocket chassis and a spacious keyboard that is very easy to use. There is even a dedicated emoticon button to help you express your mood online.

Share Everything You Want, When You Want

To make things easier for you, Microsoft has developed a sharing system that does not require you to open multiple windows, wade through several menus or type messages over and over again. In order to allow you to maximize your time online, the Microsoft Kin Two makes use of the Kin Spot system.

This neat sharing method enables you to choose which media you would like to send, drag them on the green Kin Spot (a literal spot found at the bottom of your touch screen) and do the same with the contacts you would like to send the media to. When you are done you may choose to send it as an SMS, MMS or email message.

You may also share your media as a social networking post. Simply choose what you want to post and tick the boxes corresponding to the accounts you want to send them to. These will them be updated with your latest post all at the same time. You will never have to log in separately ever again. GP
