subject: Student Life In College: Advice On How To Be Careful [print this page]

What can be more exciting than life in college? All graduates will remember their sleepless nights before exams, constant parties till sunrise and life- lasting friendship. However, not everything is as amazing as it may seem. Students in college often face to numerous problems and it is important to know how to deal with them. As many different cultures clash in the college, some students can be influenced by others and obviously, this influence is not always good.

Drugs in college

It is very common for many young people nowadays to smoke weed. They think it is not harmful for their health and even tell other students so. However, it is not the truth. Drug abuse is very common in colleges and unfortunately, you are the only one who can decide whether to do it or not. If you want to be healthy and want your brains to be clear- tell yourself that drugs are not for you.

Drinking in college

Drinking is very common among college students. Alcohol is present at almost every students party. However, everyone understands what it can lead to and it is up to you whether to drink it or not. If you are afraid to be judged by others because you are not one of those who drink- maybe it is time to think about who your friends are?

Smoking cigarettes in college

Unlike drugs and alcohol, smoking is not usually prohibited in colleges. There are special areas in colleges designed for smokers and many students think that this habit is not harmful at all. However, it can influence your health significantly. Smoking can lead to cancer, infertility and other serious diseases that can shorten your life.

Violence in college

Be careful and avoid bullies. There are many students whose purpose is not to study but to have fun and show others their power. Unfortunately, you can find them in any college and it is important to avoid communication with such people. If you know something about violence in your college- tell someone from administration immediately.
