1 Conversion1 Conversion. This is a basic requirement of getting customers. You've got the traffic, they've clicked through to your sales page, and now you have to ensure they are converted into customers. Copywriting is a skill to be learned and honed, especially if you can't afford to pay a professional. However, even if you can afford it, it's worth knowing what the difference is between successful and unsuccessful copy.

2 Beat your competition. You have to beat your competition in terms of sales but you can only do that through having attractive and compelling sales pages and offers. So, test your headlines, sub-headlines, bullet points and PSs. Your product offer may be great but you still have to convince the visitor. Of course, your offer needs be genuinely great, too.

3 Watch your competition. Find out who your competition are. If they're doing better than you, watch them to see how they're getting better traffic and conversions. Obviously, you should never just copy. But you can adapt their methods to your own business and product. For example, ask yourself how you can stand out from other similar products through your branding.

4 Go to your customers. You have to get your ads, information and squeeze pages in front of potential customers. So, find out where they go and hang around on the internet. Go there too, join in conversations, leave links, give valuable information, and make offers where you're allowed to do so. Your future customers will not know you exist unless you are where they can see you.

5 Who are your customers? Work out who will be interested in and will buy your product. The majority of your customers will not buy your upsells or high ticket products. As people go through your sales funnel, find out information about who buys what type of product. You can estimate by writing out a picture of your customers or simply ask them about themselves in surveys and the reasons they have for buying your product. In other words, get as much information as you can so you can fit products to potential customers.
