subject: Easy Steps To Bathroom Remodeling [print this page]

If you are planning to redo your bathroom you will need to plan plenty of time to do the proper amount of research. The first thing you have to know is that bathroom remodeling is expensive. Atypical bathroom remodeling project can cost anywhere from around ten thousand dollars to much higher. In order to make the most out of your money you need to make sure that you are buying the right things at the right price, and also at the right time. This is true whether you are doing a basement bathroom remodeling or one upstairs.

Where To Start With You Bathroom Remodeling Project

The first thing you need to consider before you get started is how far you want to go with your bathroom remodeling project. The easiest and simplest bathroom remodeling project is just a simple surface alteration project. This involves changes knobs, painting the walls, and doing general touch up projects to make the bathroom look better. There is minimal physical change in this bathroom remodeling project.

The next step up in bathroom remodeling project is to do a layout change. In this type of project you are going to move the components in the bathroom into different spots. This project can be difficult, but since you are going to be simply moving things from one place to another. This project can save you thousands over buying new things for your bathroom especially if you can take the time to fix up the things you have by repainting and cleaning them.

The last type of project that you can do is a full tear down and bathroom rebuild. This bathroom remodeling project is by far the most invasive and difficult to do and will require the most work. Usually you will only need to do this if there is significant structural damage to the bathroom and it is serious need of repair. The other time you may want to consider taking your bathroom remodeling project to this level is if you have to install a new tub or shower. Usually this type of project will require that you move some of the plumbing around and can require that you do some structural shifting as well.

Regardless of what bathroom remodeling project you end up doing you will need to come up with a plan. I suggest writing everything out that you plan to do, taking all the measurements, and buying most of the initial material. I would not buy everything up front as the project will more then likely change once you get involved in it.
