LG have cooked up a Smartphone storm with the LG Cookie Plus. The new social networking phone makes the most of its 3 inch TFT touch screen which displays over 262k colours and has an auto rotate function pre-installed. This 3G device looks quite hot with its moulded body work framing the colourful display; the Cookie Plus comes in a variety of colours (16 was the last count) including vivacious purple and polished silver. The slim line GS500 boasts all of the typical Smartphone tech you would expect.

LG have entitled users to various messaging services including the obvious MMS and SMS packages, e-mail integration has been thrown in so you can manage a fully functional inbox and send and receive e-mails with attachments. Social networking is an important part of communication these days and compatible handheld devices are the norm. The LG Cookie Plus supports dedicated clients for Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Flickr along with others for total social network coverage and its animated user interface supplies a graphically animated, interactive interface allowing you to keep all of your most popular contacts within a colourful garden for immediate contact, it is all a very novel experience, picking up these tiny little avatars that represent your friends and dropping them on the symbol which corresponds to the form of communication you wish to use, I like it!

There is a 3 mega pixel camera bolted onto the back which handles any stills you wish to capture just fine and it has digital zoom, mpeg4 video is shot in QVGA quality and playback looks pretty good on the WQVGA display, all of your videos and images can be shared and uploaded to sites like Facebook, and Twitter, also YouTube is compatible. There is built-in FM radio receiver and music player which can play a number of different audio files. The speaker quality is pretty good and there is a 3.55mm audio jack for use of your own headphones.

The phone has full 3G network coverage and Wi Fi connectivity for speedy web browsing and enables the constant streaming of e-mails and status updates. The LG Cookie Plus utilises an Opera web browser; it delivers intuitive controls and although the screen is resistive it still manages to supply you with a good browsing experience with its zoom controls and the screens responsive touch technology.

The GS500 Cookie Plus has Bluetooth technology for file transfers to and from other compatible devices, there is a handy USB port useful for PC synchronization and a document viewer has been pre-installed for business users.

Well, you get an interactive, animated UI which wouldnt look out of place on the Disney channel, there is a useful 3 mega pixel camera for the snap happy with a video recorder as standard, the music player is pretty decent and the phone is entirely customizable and comes in many colour variations. The device has a touch sensitive display which is both vibrant and playful in appearance and with web connectivity and social networking capabilities the LG Cookie Plus is complete, this affordable, usable Smartphone will undoubtedly be a popular handset with its low price tag and Smartphone functionality!
