subject: It Is COLD! [print this page]

Yes, the weather is definitely COLD here in Houston, setting or equaling record for lengths of sub-freezing days going back four decades. But there is a worse kind of COLD! To say that God is LOVE, and that the "Abba Father" that Jesus spoke of somehow falls back on a perverted sense of justice is COLD! It's downright, betrayal of a god who is loving- and loving. Would a loving god turn his (or her) back on anyone? Doesn't the Bible even say that God will NEVER leave us nor forsake us? COLDER yet is a God who would turn his back, face, or any such metaphor on Jesus as he hung on the cross. How COLD is that for God to turn away from a SINLESS Jesus? I simply don't get it. Futhermore, I don't believe it's true. It's very well what many writers and church fathers thought some 2,000 years ago; however, their "theological" god isn't anything like my "experiential" god. It would also be COLD for God to tell his creations (that would be you and me) to FORGIVE forever (metaphorically 490x) while He doesn't. Paul is credited with writing in Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Me too! Thus my God isn't COLD, but WARM, LOVING, and MERCIFUL! Now, if we could just get more of those who call themselves "followers of Jesus" (aka. Christians) to do the same I think the world would WARM up really fast. Ah, but then Al Gore would be upset now wouldn't he! :-)About the Author:

The world is in such a rapid expansion of knowledge that we are close to entering a tipping point that will forever change earth as we know it.
