1. How To Create & Grade Your List.

The most important commodity in any home based business is contacts. Without people to share your product, service or business opportunity with, it does not matter about the rest of the details. You should consider your business as a factory and your contacts as the raw materials. Every business, large or small, must have a grand Opening and then continue to expose its products or services and recruit new participants to fulfill the demand of continuous growth if it is going to become a thriving, profitable and enduring enterprise.

A. Creating Your List:

One of the simplest ways to create an enormous data base of contacts is to use the index of your local yellow pages directory as a memory jogger. This is a vitally important exercise and, if you are seeking extraordinary results, I recommend investing an entire weekend (two full days) pouring over every category from A to Z and racking your brain about who you know in each of the literally hundreds if not thousands of categories listed. For example: Starting with Automotive Who do you know who sells cars? Who do you know who repairs cars? Who do you know who loves cars? Who do you know who has a distinctive car? Give careful thought to who comes to mind when you think of the word car. I am sure you can appreciate that this exercise, if taken seriously can easily take two full eight hour days to complete. Please trust me when I say that this could be one of the most valuable projects that you could ever engage in to create an abundance mentality and establish a huge market potential.

B. Grading Your List:

(Use the E.R.I.C. Method)

Now that you have committed to and followed through on formulating a HUGE list, you can begin to grade the list and determine who would probably be your best and easiest individuals to approach.

E = Entrepreneurial: (Anyone who you know who is business minded, can always think of a way to generate some dollars like flea markets, garage sales, small business, ,doing odd jobs or handy work.)

R = Resources: (Choose people who at least have or can easily get a few hundred extra dollars so they are not already totally broke, busted and disgusted before they even get started in your business.)

I = Influence: (People who have some degree of respect from others. Business owners, managers, volunteers, Boy Scout or Girl Guide leaders, teachers, coaches, professionals, successful individuals.)

C = City: ( People who are ideally 50 miles or less away from your city so it will be possible to get with them face-to-face, belly-to-belly to share ideas you want them to consider about your business.)

If you will go through the entire list, one letter at a time, (as long as you have made the effort to create an extensive list,) and put a check mark beside each person who has these qualities, you will most probably end up with several who have FOUR checks and several who have THREE checks. These will be the best people to approach first. When you have done this and identified the short list, you should take the time to write down everything you can think of about each person. Old or young? Married or single? Hobbies and interests Anything unique about them or their family. When you provide a very detailed description of each prospect, your success coach will be much better equipped to suggest what might be the most effective way to approach them.

2. The Importance of Persistence & Consistence

I will until is the mantra of the persistent and consistent individual. When a rock cutter hits a rock 100 times before successfully making his cut, which one is the most important?

ANSWER: All of them.

The single most common reason that people fail in Network Marketing is their off again on again hit and miss approach. When you have a J.O.B. ( Jump Outa Bed for someone elses dream,) how often do you go to work if you want to keep your job? Why would anybody show up day after week after month after year for somebody else and only make a half hearted effort at building a dream of their own?

You must have burning passion to provide something better for yourself and your family and be willing to go for it with an I will not be denied mentality if you want success.

3. What to Say to the Nay-Sayers

If you want someones lifestyle listen to their advice and opinions. We all know people whose lifestyle would be our worst nightmare so why do we let losers steal our dreams? Belly buttons and opinions are a dime a dozen, however, there are amazing examples of success who will tell you that Network marketing is a business model that they whole heartedly endorse and recommend.

Unless their business track record is more impressive that Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Warren Buffet or Sir Richard Branson, nobody is qualified to negate the colossal power and proven effectiveness of the Network Marketing Industry.

When you meet the self appointed experts, who question your business, leave them alone so you can move on to those who are positive, forward thinking and open minded. You are now in business for yourself so you can choose who you will work with.

The best thing that you can do to guarantee a more enjoyable life is to eliminate the psychic vampires who will suck the life out of you with their negative point of view.

The Law of association is very clear. Who do you want to become the average of?

4. The Law of Association

In preparing yourself for the formulation of your Mission Statement and in refining the description of the person you are fully committed to becoming, you must surround yourself with others who have above average skills in your chosen areas and more importantly measurable results.

However, you must be equally as conscious to avoid frequent exposure to those whose values and character are obviously a direct contradiction to your own objectives.

WARNING

Never fall victim to hero worship or unquestioning following of any person or group. You must always THINK for yourself. Seldom will any one person possess all of the qualities you are seeking to develop.

As your Network Marketing Business grows and develops, it is clearly necessary that you ultimately become a leader not a follower.

The most indispensable characteristic of a great leader is that they have everyone's best interest in mind . . . Not just selfish motives.

It is never good to be cynical but it is always wise to recognize that things may not always be what they appear to be. This again underscores the importance of you knowing what is vital to you, your values and objectives so you may easily recognize behaviors in others that are incongruent with who you are fully committed to becoming.

It is essential that we are not naive and recognize that sometimes, in order to have us serve their needs, others will often claim to have certain values and principles that, over time, may indeed prove not to be so.

Remember that with everyone . . . "Time will either promote you or expose you." All of these principles are the bi-product of experience and wisdom gained through the many relationships we "hopefully" learn from, throughout our lives.

The underlying message here is that, ultimately, you have the dignity of choice and, regardless of the distraction, you will need to remain focused on reaching your chosen destination. Those who do not remain focused are easily distracted!

"Quitters never win and winners never quit" . . .

5. Creating Your Mission Statement

The first and most essential component for creating a solid foundation for mastery of a successful and productive distributorship is the crystal clear definition of your WHY.

Your WHY can be defined as your strategic objective . . . your ultimate goal . . . the result you ardently desire to create as a product of your efforts in your Network Marketing business.

Nothing could be more misguided than to set out on this venture without having a burning desire for a very specific end result that is personal and clearly envisioned by you.

You must, by design, distill your wishes and dreams into a short, clear, laser focused Mission Statement that you can review every morning upon rising and every evening before retiring.

As you begin, keep in mind that you can identify ways to inspire yourself using pictures, videos, music etc. to burn your objectives, dreams and goals into your psyche.

Please keep in mind that building your ideal lifestyle must be viewed as a marathon, not a sprint. You would be well advised to engage in activities, on a daily basis that are enjoyable and congruent with your values and objectives.

Doing what you really enjoy is the key to peak performance. Given that survival is the highest priority and people are preoccupied with the need to survive, then happiness comes not from surviving, but from when you believe in what you are doing, you know what you are doing and love what you are doing.

The key to happiness is knowing why you are here! Interpret your personal values, dreams and goals and remain conscious of establishing balance in material, spiritual, physical, family and community related elements of your life in addition to the obvious financial rewards that are available to you from your Network Marketing Business.
