subject: How To Select Jewelry Show [print this page] New York--The Select Jewelry Show, a new vendor-organized, by-invitation event, will debut this year in San Francisco, followed by a second show in Dallas.
In both cities, the show will take place at the luxury hotel The Ritz-Carlton, with the San Francisco event taking place Aug. 22 and 23, and the Dallas event slated for Sept. 26 and 27.
The goal of the event, according to the show's Web site, tiffany jewelry is "to create an intimate buying atmosphere for its members."
Exhibitor members for the 2010 events include Alisa, Bellarri International Fine Jewelry, Brazilian Boutique, Breuning, Color Merchants, Color Story by Robert Leser, Dove's Jewelry Designs, Elite Designs, Frank Rubel Designs, Frederic Sage, Gottlieb and Sons, Gumuchian, I. Reiss, Icerok, Jenny Perl, Kimberly Collins Colored Gems, KC Designs, Leddel International, Makur Designs, Michael Werdiger, Norman Covan, PeJay Creations, Raymond Hak, Royal Pearl, Sethi Couture, The Henderson Collection, Timeless Designs by Jacob and Bryan, Tony Maccabi Designs, V-By and Yael Designs.
Select Jewelry Show co-founder Joe Carullo, of KC Designs, told National Jeweler that the show was, in part, inspired by the high costs that exhibitors face when participating in larger jewelry shows.
"We as an industry need to start fostering inexpensive, small shows," he said.
While the 2010 events will take place in San Francisco and Dallas this year, the show template--aimed at providing retailers and suppliers with an elegant, comfortable environment--is one that could be used in additional cities in the future, Carullo said, with Chicago being a next possible location.
