subject: Have The Manufacturers Of The World Cup 2010 Merchandise Gone Mad? [print this page]

When it comes to the World Cup 2010, there is some very weird and wonderful merchandise available for the fanatics who just can't get enough and for those with such a passion for their team, that their entire houses and cars are covered with merchandise to show their undying support. There are the traditional flags, although many are also printed onto blankets, coffee mugs, boxer shorts and even handbags, all with the purpose of showing your true team spirit and support for your team in the World Cup 2010.

The question is however; when is team support considered healthy and how over the top should you go? Well merchandise manufacturers have gone all out for the World Cup this year and they have even created merchandise for your pets. A nice warm dog coat sporting the Union Jack is one thing, but what about a warm and cosy hamster pouch also displaying your team flag?

It would be a very interesting conversation if our pets could talk to us, that's for sure! Would your hamster tell you how excited they were every time you brought home some fancy piece of merchandise and then tried to squeeze their little bodies into it, or forced them to sleep in it? Probably not! They would more than likely request that you give them some space and fresh fruit to nibble on, end of story.

It is because pet owners get carried away with purchasing crazy and unique items for their pets that manufacturers have to keep thinking outside the square to keep coming up with unique and interesting ideas to market to pet owners across the globe. Who knows what they will come up with next and how far they will need to go in order to satisfy obsessed pet owners.
