subject: Cincinnati Bengals Tickets - Ochocinco Pulls Another Fast One [print this page]

If Chad Ochocinco could just concentrate solely on football and not on the surrounding theatrics, perhaps the Cincinnati Bengals would be 8-0 right now. Even with losses to the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans this season, however, the 6-2 Bengals are having one incredible year, and Ochocinco is making sure the football world doesn't forget about him - or his team.

The Bengals play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 (Nov. 15) at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, and the over-the-top No. 85 had a pregame gift of sorts for the Steelers. In regards to Pittsburgh's stadium being named Heinz Field after the ketchup manufacturer, Ochocinco tweeted that he was going to send a bottle of mustard to the Steelers before the Week 10 game, saying, "Can't wait to pull out this mustard Sunday since they won't be able to ketch-up to me-funny-won't be when I pull it out though-Pow."

Instead of going along with the prank, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis vetoed the gesture, keeping Ochocinco from going through with it. Not one to let obstacles keep him down, however, Ochocinco claimed he'll find a way to get pumped up for the Bengals-Steelers game anyhow, saying, "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to send anything this week, thanks to Marvin Lewis. That's the way to spoil the fun, boss man. I guess I have to trash talk to motivate myself this week."

There may not be much mustard-slinging in mid-November as the Bengals travel to Heinz Field, but this certainly isn't the only gift Chad Ochocinco has tried giving away as motivation for big football games. In fact, in 2004 the wide receiver shipped a bottle of Pepto-Bismol to a defensive back on the Cleveland Browns, leaving a note that he'd need the medicine once he was done covering the receiver during the game.

Most recently, the funny guy pulled a fast one on the Baltimore Ravens, sending them deodorant in advance of the Week 9 melee between the two teams. Seeming to be on a kick, Ochocinco next planned on pulling his condiment prank, though he was ultimately stopped by Marvin Lewis beforehand.

No matter what kind of pranks and publicity stunts Chad Ochocinco pulls while he's off the football field, once the receiver steps foot onto the turf he's done playing games. The nine-year Bengal has accrued 639 yards and five touchdowns this season as part of Cincinnati's dynamic offense, and along with running backs Rashard Mendenhall and Cedric Benson and also quarterback Carson Palmer, Ochocinco has been a major reason for the fanatic sale of Cincinnati Bengals tickets online this year.

The Bengals have had a tough schedule so far this year and sit 6-2 after Week 9 of the regular season, winning hard-fought battles against the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens (twice) and Chicago Bears as of mid-November. Cincinnati is now looking to lock down its second win of the season against the Steelers in Week 10, and perhaps with the outspoken Chad Ochocinco leading the way the Bengals will be well on their way to securing the AFC North title.
