subject: How To Get A Broken Ps3 Fixed [print this page]

As a PS3 owner, you probably fear the "yellow light of death." And if your PS3 has this light showing you probably would like to know if it can be fixed. Happily, it can be there are three basic ways to do this, which I will explain below.

Some repair options cost more than others. Read the three options below and choose the one that you think will work best for you; you have nothing to lose! These are the most reliable ways to try to fix that PS3:

1. Send it in to the Manufacturer. Sony can fix your PS3 woes easily. They have a team of technicians dedicated just to the PS3. If you send your console in to them, it will go to this team for a fix.

You'll pay for the privilege though. It'll cost a minimum of $150, and take 6-12 weeks before you get your unit back. When you get your console, expect that anything you had saved on it will be gone. The techs will most likely reformat the hard drive. You also won't know whether the original issue will happen again.

2. Game Repair Professionals. Your cheaper option is to find a local person who can repair your PS3. You can probably find a repair person via Google. You'll want to check specifically if they do the PlayStation 3 yellow light fix, as not all repair persons do.

You'll only pay around $60-140 for a local person to do the repair, most often. The turnaround time is better too with an average of about six weeks. You still run the risk of getting your console back with a reformatted hard drive.

3. Repair it Yourself. The cheapest and most efficient option is just to do the yellow light repair yourself. You don't need to be a tech expert to do it either. People with no experience in repairs can successfully do the yellow light repair. Just get a result oriented instruction guide. You can find these online, and there are even step-by-step video guides.

If you use a video, it is very simple. Just watch and follow along, doing the steps as instructed. If you do, you'll get good results and your console will be fixed. You won't have to worry about it happening again because you can just fix it again. Plus, you can fix your console without having to reformat your hard drive and losing all of your saved games.
