subject: How to put movies on the HTC hero [print this page] The htc hero is a popular phone featuring the android operating system, the functionality of the handset is second to none but it can be frustrating trying to put movies on the hero. For a start there is no video conversion software included with the phone and non available from the apps store.
After a few days searching I found the answer, to put movies on the htc hero is now a piece of cake. I bought a nifty bit of software that takes movies in any format then converts them to play on any phone or any media device. It's dead easy here is all you need to do.
1. Install the converter to your pc or mac, this takes about a minute.
2. If the film you want on your android phone is on DVD then simply place the disc in your dvd rom drive, if the film is an Avi or Divx file simply point the converter to it's location.
3. Choose the device you want the movie to play on, in this case HTC Hero and hit the convert button. Depending on the length of your file or disc it takes on average 20 minutes to do it's task.
4. Drag the finished file to your hero and your done. I find it easier to manage them when I create a folder and name it "films" then just drag all my movie files into it.
How simple is that, I have 3 eight gig memory cards stuffed full of high quality movies that I can watch anywhere. Sure the software is not free but at least you are guaranteed that it is virus and spyware free, unlike the free ones. When you think about it why would someone offer you free software if there was nothing in it for them. They give it free and stuff it full of spyware.
